4 Ingredient Everything Bagels
Living in South Asia doesn’t always mean that you have everything at your fingertips. Okay, it mostly means that anything related to cooking means it’s NOT at your fingertips. Things here take extra time, energy, steps, searches, etc. When I had this idea for quick and easy bagels, I thought — this is crazy, there’s no way it will work. BUT. Lo and behold, these amazing, ready in 30 minutes or less Everything Bagels. And the best part? Only 4 ingredients are required, and totally sugar free. That’s right. FOUR. Let’s dive in.
4 Ingredient Everything Bagels
30 minutes - 4 bagels
1 cup self rising flour (1 cup All Purpose flour, 1.5 tsp baking powder, 1 tsp salt)
1 cup plain yogurt
1 beaten egg
Everything But The Bagel Seasoning
Preheat your oven to 350.
Mix the flour and yogurt together to form a dough. Dump on a floured surface and divide into 4 equal parts.
Roll each part into a log and attach the ends to make a bagel figure. Bake for 20 minutes, Broiling for 3-5 minutes to brown the tops.
Serve with cream cheese. (If in South Asia, use Britannia cream cheese — you can find it at most local import stores!)
** Add your sourdough discard to this recipe by adding 100-150 grams of discard and 1/2-2/3 cup of yogurt until a dough forms. You might have to add more or less yogurt, so I’d start with 1/2 a cup of yogurt and add more as needed.
