Snowbird Mountain Lodge Intimate Elopement

Some weddings feel like a perfect reflection of the couple at the heart of them, and Kelsey & Mark’s Snowbird Mountain Lodge elopement was exactly that—intentional, heartfelt, and full of the things that mean the most to them.

You might have already seen their day-after adventure session, but now it’s time to relive their actual wedding day—one that was filled with love, laughter, and a touch of adventure.

Why Snowbird Mountain Lodge is Perfect for an Elopement

Tucked away in North Carolina’s Appalachian Mountains, Snowbird Mountain Lodge is a dream setting for couples who want an intimate, nature-filled wedding experience. The lodge offers a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with breathtaking mountain views, cozy cabin vibes, and peaceful seclusion that makes it an ideal place for couples who want to celebrate with just their closest friends and family. Their on-site restaurant rivals any Michelin star restaurant and is the perfect place for your intimate reception after elopement ceremony.

Kelsey & Mark knew they wanted a wedding day that felt genuine and relaxed, where they could be fully present with each other and their loved ones. And Snowbird Mountain Lodge provided the perfect backdrop for their heartfelt, adventure-inspired elopement.

An Intimate Celebration with Personal Touches

From the very beginning, Kelsey & Mark infused their Snowbird Mountain Lodge elopement with personal details that made the day feel uniquely theirs. Their ceremony was simple yet deeply meaningful, with handwritten vows that had everyone in tears and Mark sweeping Kelsey (literally) off her feet after saying I do.

And of course, they had to include some of their favorite things—post-it notes with their own personal motto to each other, trail mix, and hiking boots. These little details weren’t just random; they were woven into their relationship, symbolizing inside jokes, shared adventures, and the little things that brought them closer together.

Surrounded by the people who mean the most to them, they promised forever against a backdrop of rolling mountains and golden light. It was the kind of ceremony that didn’t need extravagant décor or grand gestures—just real love, real emotions, and the beauty of the moment.

Adventure & Connection at Snowbird Mountain Lodge

One of the reasons I love photographing elopements at Snowbird Mountain Lodge is that it’s a place where couples can truly be themselves. Whether it’s hiking to a scenic overlook, sharing quiet moments on the lodge’s wraparound porch, or simply soaking in the mountain air, every part of the experience feels authentic and meaningful.

Kelsey & Mark fully embraced that spirit. After their ceremony, we explored the surrounding lake (totally their idea), capturing the joy and connection they shared on a freaking canoe! They are the real adventure-ers. The way they laughed together, held hands, and fully soaked in the moment was a reminder of what elopements are really about—love, presence, and the start of a new adventure together.
